HEALTH + SAFETY
We are committed now more than ever to providing our guests with a safe place to stay and play. Which is why, when the time is right for you to travel again, we want you to be aware of the steps we’ve taken to meet the new health and safety challenges and expectations presented by COVID-19.
We have developed a comprehensive health and cleanliness plan for the hotel and all of our, restaurants and bars which supplements the American Hotel & Lodging Association’s Safe Stay Guidelines and is based on recommendations and requirements of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO), U.S. Department of Health (DOH), U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and other federal, state and local agencies, as well as information from the National Restaurant Association, our cleaning product suppliers and other partners, to minimize risk and enhance safety for our hotel guests and associates.

Unscripted Durham offers contactless parking on site through our self-park garage. Most guest rooms are accessible via open air guest corridors, with direct access from the parking garage available without the use of an elevator for those interested.
Unscripted Durham guest rooms are left vacant for at least 24 hours between guest stays, to the extent possible. Guest rooms are cleaned with the recommended cleaners and disinfectants in accordance with the guidelines provided by the CDC and Ecolab. The rooms are treated with an electrostatic sprayer to ensure that all soft surfaces are also disinfected. All guest rooms have individual HVAC units. All reusable collateral, including newspapers and magazines, have been removed from guest rooms. All menus are now accessible digitally via QR code.
The Patio, our rooftop outdoor venue, is open at 50% capacity with modified hours, following city, state, and federal guidelines. Due to limited seating capacity, reservations are encouraged. We have implemented digital menus accessible via QR code on smart phones.
CLEANING + SANITIZING
Unscripted Durham has implemented enhanced cleaning and sanitization standards across the property, increasing the frequency with extra focus on high-touch areas. We have provided ample sanitizing stations located at the front desk, guest floors, elevator landings, hotel entrances, restaurants and other high traffic areas. Unscripted Durham employees have been trained on progressive sanitization guidelines as recommended by the CDC and Ecolab.
Unscripted Durham guests are to practice social distancing by standing at least six feet away from other groups. All layouts in our restaurants and public spaces have been rearranged to ensure appropriate distancing and elevator occupancy is reduced to one party at a time.
Unscripted Durham guests are required to wear face masks while in the hotel or restaurants. The City of Durham's Safer at Home Order requires face coverings to be worn by hotel guests and employees. All Unscripted Durham hotel and restaurant employees are required to wear a face mask at all times. Unscripted Durham has face masks available for guests on request.
TEMPERATURE + WELL-BEING CHECKS
Unscripted Durham employees must complete a health screening which includes a temperature reading before the start of each shift. Anyone with a temperature above 100.4 degrees and/or who exhibits symptoms indicated in the health screening will be sent home.
HOUSEKEEPING, ROOM SERVICE + GUEST REQUESTS
Unscripted Durham will offer housekeeping service upon request only, without guests in the room. Room attendants will offer to return at an alternative time for occupied rooms. We have also implemented a contact-free maintenance policy for occupied guest rooms, asking guests to specify a time they will be out of the room so that we may perform any repairs. In-room dining is not currently available at Unscripted Durham.
